10 ideas to get more eyes on your brilliant new website

Your new website is live! OK, now what?

Congratulations on launching your new website! That’s a big step – and a brilliant one. But now you might be asking yourself “How do I actually get people to visit it?”.

Whether your site was a refresh or a full rebuild, this is the time to get it working for you. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a marketing expert to make a big impact. Below are some clear, easy ways to spread the word.

START WITH THE BASICS (THEY WORK!)

These are your solid, go-to moves for getting your website out into the world. Don’t skip them. They’re simple, effective and will help increase traffic to your website, and can even help improve your rankings in search engines.

A few helpful notes before we start:

When you’re adding links online that will be “clickable”, it’s best if you copy and paste your full website address (including the part that starts with “https://” This will ensure that visitors are taken directly to the secure version of your website.

For physical things (like signs, marketing materials, apparel, etc.) where you can’t include a clickable link, you don’t have to include the “https://” or “www” and you can use a combination of both uppercase and lowercase letters to make your website address more legible (eg. use ‘AnorakCat.co.uk’ instead of ‘https://www.anorakcat.co.uk’). Letter case won’t affect anything, and the “www” just isn’t necessary!

Ok, let’s get going!

1. Add it everywhere you show up
Update your email signature, invoices, social profiles, Google listing, business cards, signage, promotional items – anywhere your name appears. Make it easy for people to find you.

2. Tell your email list
If you have a mailing list, now’s the time to let them know! Share the news, show off a feature or two, and invite them to have a look.

3. Share on social (more than once!)
Make a bit of a fuss about it! A new website is a milestone.
Post some nice screenshots, tell the story of the redesign, or share a “before and after” if you have one. And don’t be afraid to post more than once over a few weeks.

4. Get clients and collaborators involved
If your new site features testimonials, case studies or partner logos (all wonderful things!), tag those people on social media when you share. People love seeing themselves celebrated, and some will reshare it to their own networks.

5. Check your Google listing
If you have a physical location or local client base, make sure your website link is added or updated on your Google Business Profile. It’s free and powerful.

NEXT-LEVEL IDEAS (THAT YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE THOUGHT OF)

Once the basics are in place, these clever little tricks can help you stand out and drive more of the right traffic to your site.

6. Write a ‘new website’ blog post
Share the thinking behind your new site – what’s changed, what you love, what visitors should check out. It’s an easy piece of content and great for SEO.

7. Pin it
Pin your launch post on Instagram or Facebook, or add it as a highlight/story. On LinkedIn, you can feature it at the top of your profile. Keep it visible whilst the news is fresh!

8. Get featured on other sites
Been part of a collaboration? Ask if the people you worked with (photographers, copywriters, designers) will link to your site in a blog or portfolio. It’s showing off their great work too!

9. Answer questions online
Sites like Quora, Reddit or Facebook groups are full of people looking for advice. If your services help solve their problems, answer helpfully and link to your site (when relevant).

10. Create a mini launch series
Instead of just one post, plan a mini series (maybe 3–5 posts) where you share tips, insights, or behind-the-scenes views of your business and link back to your website each time.

ONE LAST TIP…

Don’t feel you have to do everything. Start with the basics, choose one or two extras that feel doable, and build from there. A new website is a big moment – so don’t rush past it. You’ve got something great to share.
